1/72 M274 Mule USMC

Member John Shimek built this OKB Grigorov resin/PE kit of the M 274 Mule as used by the US Marine Corps in Vietnam.
“I have some memories of this vehicle during my tour in Nam in late 1969 and 1970 including those with a 106mm RR mounted. This model depicts as many units used them to haul supplies of various nature in that time period. As far as the model building goes, I would say this is one of my most serious challenges to complete. In 1/72 scale this model is 1 1/2 inches long and with the many PE additions (23 total – most of which you cannot see) it wasn’t always a pleasure building. Be that as it may, I am happy with the way it turned out. I used Model Masters paint ‘Marine Corps Green’, accurate for that era and markings from a Bison Decal sheet. Weathered with pastel chalks and oil wash.” Hope you enjoy.
