1/48 F-100D

Member Larry Davis built this good looking Trumpeter 1/48 F-100D. Larry had this to say – “Here’s my latest showcase queen. It’s the 1/48 Trumpeter F-100D. Started out to be what I consider contest quality. But problems persisted so I just finished it and put it away. The Aires gear bays were a real problem, which created other problems like non-fitting wing roots, top and bottom. Landing gear was also a major pain. But it’s finished and sure looks like an F-100. All Alclad with Aeromaster decals. Aires cockpit with AMS seat. Modified (widened) main wheels, repositioned stabilizers, deletion of the wing fences (PACAF birds did NOT have them for some reason.) But I learned a lot to build the next F-100D. But not until I finish my foiled F-100C practice model.”

All I can say is I wish my practice builds looked even a fraction as good as yours Larry. Keep it up!
