September Annual Sunday Picnic/Meeting 2017

This month’s meeting will be at John Shimek’s house on Sunday, September 17th at 1:00 PM.

This month there will be a theme contest sponsored in memory of Ed Kinney – “Best USMC Subject”. There will also be a non-theme contest as well sponsored by the chapter.

Bring your spouse, significant other, children, grandchildren – this is a family event.
We ask that you bring a covered dish – salad, vegetable, dessert or whatever your
favorite food to share might be.
The club will provide pulled pork, chicken, burgers and hot-dogs, chips, pop and plates.

OUR ANNUAL RAFFLE – WITH MANY DESIRABLE PRIZES TO BE WON WILL BE HELD AT THIS EVENT!!!

There is a 27′ diameter, 4′ deep swimming pool available, weather permitting, so plan to bring that bathing suit along for yourself and the family and enjoy the pool.

Directions to Picnic-

From Interstate 77 traveling south to Canton, go West onto US Route 30. Take second exit on West 30, Raff/Whipple Road exit. Go straight in left lane on access road to stop sign at Whipple Avenue. Turn left and continue in right lane to traffic light at Navarre Road SW. Turn right on Navarre Road and continue to next light (about 1 1/2 miles) to Perry Drive SW. Turn right on Perry Drive at the Speedway gas station. Go to second intersection at Oakvale and turn left onto Oakvale. Follow Oakvale west to a stop sign at Dreamwood intersection. Continue straight on Oakvale and the road will veer to right and at 400′ you will come to Oakcliff. Turn left onto Oakcliff and the next intersection (397’distance) is Graydon Avenue SW. Turn right and the first house on right is your destination 2536 Graydon SW. There is a large flagpole at the end of the driveway. Hope to see you there.
