1/72 Hasegawa B-24J

Member Ken Patterson built this beautiful B-24 build for a WWII veteran who turns 90 this month. This veteran 1st Lt. George Sankey was a B-24 Navigator with the 446th bomb group. . This was one of the planes he flew some missions in. Included is a historical picture of the crew in front of the plane. In Ken’s own words – “It is the 1/72 Hasegawa B-24J. I had Keith Davison of Red Pegasus decals do the nose art and tail codes. I used the CMK photo etch instrument panel and resin seats with photo etch seat belts. I added throttle, mixture and prop pitch levers to the center control column in the cockpit. Also used were a set of CMK resin wheels. Each engine has ignition wires added. Model was painted with Alclad II and model master paint. The engine exhaust stains were a mixture of airbrushed streaks and pastels.”

Beautiful job Ken and you are commended for doing this for a WW II Veteran. Many Thanks!
